LOL! Oh yes, it's also always so literally dark that you can barely see anything :) One of my pet peeves is things like The Vikings where everything is dark brown - that particularly annoys me because as a historical reenactor I know they ought to be wearing the brightest colours they could lay their hands on, and paint their buildings and ships and everything in the brightest colours. So not only are the stories incredibly macho in the sense of the only value is strength and violence, but it's not even good to look at.
