New fandom, new way of contributing to fandom
So, I'm now mostly lurking in The Untamed fandom (and also doing podfic of one of my favourite fics.) I guess this means I need Jin Guangyao icons now :)
Making podfic is a lot easier than I thought. The main problem (for me) is just tripping over my tongue, but a lot of that can be fixed in the editing.
A podfic of Last of Our Kind by Shiome
On a ship to Dongying, a man awakens grievously injured, missing not only a hand but also a good chunk of his memories.
Travelling across a foreign land and dealing with local ghosts, Meng Yao(?) tries to remember and Lan Xichen tries to forget. But on the way to retracing and rekindling old feelings, they realize they are being followed.

and you can get free open source music on Pixabay and honestly, I record with a fairly basic microphone on my computer desk and then edit out the room noise in Audacity later.
It takes a bit of fiddling about before you can edit out the room noise without making your voice sound weird, but I think I've got it in chapter two, and that was even without taking the ticking clock off the wall.

And I knew that pixabay had some open source images and things, but didn't realize it also had music!
I'll have to look into some sort of basic microphone setup... but it seems more doable than I've really thought it could be, ha.

Audacity's website has a load of tutorials for cleaning up sound, and there are also a lot of useful demonstration vids on YouTube, but it's not really complicated. You could definitely do it.

It's funny how CQL takes over people's life! XD I've been in this fandom for over two years now and it's a whole lot of fun! :D

I play the pennywhistle and I have to admit to already having bought a tassel for it as a result of this series. I'm sure the obsession will only grow from there :)
