If you got the opportunity to add one thing to the canon of any of your fandoms, what would that be? Maybe there’s a character who didn’t get much of a backstory/storyline and you’d like to do something with them, maybe a show was axed too soon and you had thoughts on what could happen in a subsequent season, maybe there’s a new episode you’d like to have added.

In your own space, add something to your fandom’s canon.

I mean it's not exactly unexpected but I would like a happy ending for Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen.

I would like Celeborn's battle against the forces of Dol Guldur to make it out of the appendicies of LotR and into the main story so he could have his one moment of awesome.

I would like General Hux to have his moment of awesome to set against all the canon that makes him look ridiculous and pathetic.

I would like Therem Harth rem ir Estraven to survive to welcome the visitors from outer space.

I would take Norrington and his lieutenants out of the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies so that none of what happened to any of them in the sequels happened, and I could leave them sailing home in triumph with a ship ballasted in gold.

Ianto Jones would live.

The Loki series would be written by someone who appreciated his character for what it is instead of trying to mold it into some new more acceptable form. Preferably whoever wrote the Journey Into Mystery series in the comics.

I wouldn't change anything about Stargate Universe. That series built and ended beautifully.

Oh yes. *deep sigh* JGY was dealt a shitty hand from the beginning and LXC just...he just loved too much to actually open his eyes. Obviously I prefer a HEA but I'm not necessarily after a grand romantic love story? Just JGY alive and LXC not as a broken shell of a man wasting away in seclusion. I've read some very good stories where Gusu takes custody of JGY whose core is sealed and the healing starts from there. It might end up in a relationship but it doesn't have to.
And, of course, this works better with the CQL canon because in the novel, JGY was so unbelievably angry at LXC in the end. The mood was very different.

Yes, something like that would be perfect. I'm currently podficcing 'Last of our kind' by Shiome in which LXC takes JGY to Dongying himself and they figure it out slowly between them despite JGY having amnesia and LXC being very angry at the beginning. But I've read a number of other fics where they do reconcile if JGY is allowed to remain alive, and LXC gets the explanations he needs. Do you have any links bookmarked? I'd love to try any you thought were particularly good.

I haven't managed to get to the end of the novel yet. I was waiting until I could buy all three volumes and read them at once, but then I got used to waiting and not doing it. It's interesting that JGY was the angry one there. I'll have to read it to find out what's up with that :)

Oh. Hm. Phantom Pain is gorgeous and painful, I liked it a lots.

Ooh, thank you! I'm half way through it and enjoying it a lot - and it was definitely not one I'd seen before. It's nice to think there are still Xiyao fics I haven't seen before. Still plenty to discover :)

I'm not familiar with all of your fandoms mentioned here, but for those I am, I wholeheartedly agree! (Celeborn, Hux, Norrington, Ianto and Loki).

I think it's telling that the only two characters on the list who didn't end up dead are the two immortals!
