Went into town today. Absolutely heaving with people, only about a third of whom were masked. Nobody seems to pay the slightest bit of attention to the two meters distance rule, and today there was a freaking bagpiper playing!

Now normally I'm all in favour of the bagpipes. I'm a big fan. But wind instruments have been banned throughout the country because of the risk of spreading coronavirus. Can you imagine the pressure with which the air comes out of a bagpipe? Sheesh.

And yes, I'm bitter, because I've had to learn to play a whole new instrument and haven't touched my pennywhistle for a year, but heck, it's been a whole year now and I'm beginning to lose patience with all these people who refuse to do a single thing to help.

You really want to busk, fucking learn an accordion like the rest of us, Ms Piper.

I have lost SO MUCH PATIENCE with people not taking things seriously. *Most* people in my area have been decent about masking, and most of the big stores require it. But while we were traveling we stopped in a town that had almost no one masking, and there were people doing so deliberately in the hotel we stayed in.
I don't especially enjoy the fact that I've tipped from being annoyed to being *angry* with people who do that nonsense, but I definitely have. People like that are why the pandemic is still so dangerous, and will directly contribute to the potential spread of dangerous variants.

Bagpipes though? That's pretty egregious.

Yes, it's unlike me to feel judgemental of normal people just getting on with their lives in whatever way they can... but this time their behaviour directly affects the welfare of the entire country and possibly threatens my life and theirs. And they've had a year to think it all over and educate themselves by now. I genuinely expected more.

Exactly! If it truly only impacted them, I wouldn't care so much (even if I still thought they were being stupid), but they're directly putting other people at risk, and that makes me angry.
